As we bid farewell to 2023 and look forward to 2024, I’m excited to share our mega project for the upcoming year: goat farming.

Goat farming has piqued our interest as a sustainable and low-maintenance business venture. These herbivorous creatures thrive on grasses, which we are fortunate to have in abundance on our farm. Our goal is to leverage these natural food resources to create a thriving goat farming operation. As we prepare for this new chapter, our initial challenge lies in transforming a grass-filled swampy area into a conducive space for our goats.
Overcoming Challenges with Innovation
The journey to establishing our goat farm is filled with challenges, notably the swampy terrain filled with grasses that we need to clear. Armed with sheer determination, a machete, and wood for makeshift pathways, we’ve embarked on the task of cleaning up the surroundings. This hands-on approach is not only a testament to our commitment but also a way to physically engage with the land we hope to transform.
The Vision for Our Goat House
Our vision for the goat house is ambitious yet grounded in practicality. We aim to erect a structure that can accommodate 10 to 20 goats to start with, ensuring that we never run short of food for our herd. The vast area filled with nutritious grasses promises a sustainable source of food, laying the foundation for a successful goat farming venture.
From Goat Racing to Sustainable Farming
Our previous experience with goat racing on the farm has laid a foundation for this venture. Despite temporarily halting the project due to development plans for the property, our passion for goat farming remains undiminished. We’re now ready to embark on this journey once again, with a focus on sustainability and low-impact farming practices.

Our daily routine on the farm goes beyond just preparing for goat farming. It involves a holistic approach to farm life, from cutting grass for chicken nest baskets to hatching chicks and even digging a deep well for a sustainable water system. These activities not only keep us physically active but also allow us to invest our time and energy into meaningful projects that contribute to the farm’s self-sufficiency.
