Celebrating Success in African Lovebird Breeding: A Journey of Growth and Natural Care

Hello, wonderful friends! It’s yet another radiant day, and I am thrilled to welcome you back to Dexter’s World channel. This year, 2023, has been an extraordinary chapter in our journey, particularly in the realm of African lovebird breeding. Our efforts have flourished beyond expectations, with our flock growing to more than a hundred vibrant, colorful African lovebirds. Starting with just a few pairs, we’ve now nurtured a thriving community of over fifty pairs, all housed within our carefully designed aviary.

A Testament to Natural Breeding

Our success story is a testament to the power of natural breeding. We’ve embraced a hands-on approach, sometimes hand-feeding the chicks and at other times allowing the parents to nurture their offspring. This balance has ensured our birds are not only healthy but also happy. Through a throwback video, we’ve shared insights into the meticulous care and attention that goes into raising these beautiful birds.

Enhancing Our Aviary

Recognizing the need for a spacious environment conducive to healthy breeding, we’ve expanded our facilities. Our new aviary, divided into two compartments, addresses the specific needs of different African lovebird species. We’ve also emphasized the importance of using high-quality screens and the application of metal primer to ensure longevity, showcasing our commitment to creating a durable and safe home for our feathered friends.

The Journey of Relocation

The relocation of our birds to a new environment marked a significant step in our breeding program. Carefully capturing and transferring each bird, we’ve managed to move our entire flock, including the prized IRN (Indian Ringneck) African lovebirds, to their new home. This move, though challenging, was necessary for their well-being and the continuation of our breeding success.

With the birds now settled beside our home, we’re ushered into a new era of care and breeding. Personal involvement in their daily routine allows us to provide them with a variety of nutritious foods, ensuring their health and vitality.
