Raising Bantam Chickens and Expanding Our Farm: A Journey Through Dexter’s World

Hi guys, it’s a beautiful day once again and welcome back to Dexter’s World channel! Today, we’re diving into one of the farm’s main attractions: our elegant and delightful Bantam chickens. Let’s explore their world and share some exciting updates about our farm and future plans.

The Joy of Raising Bantam Chickens

Bantam chickens are a true delight to have on the farm. These small, charming birds are not only easy to produce but also blend well with other chickens. However, it’s important to remember that while they are brave and fearless, their small size can make them vulnerable if housed with larger breeds. That’s why we keep our Bantams in elevated cages to protect them and ensure their health and well-being.

Essential Tips for Raising Bantam Chickens

Raising Bantam chickens requires a bit of special care. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

  1. Housing: Keep them in elevated cages to prevent disease and ensure their safety.
  2. Diet: Provide a variety of seeds and leafy greens to keep them healthy and active.
  3. Health Monitoring: Regular deworming is crucial. A healthy Bantam has a bright red face, indicating good health.

Bantam chickens are lucrative as well. They consume less food—only about a quarter of what larger chickens eat—and they fetch a higher price in the market. A pair of Bantams can cost around 10,000 pesos, making them a valuable addition to any farm.

Expanding Our Farm

Our integrated farm is growing beautifully. We have a variety of vegetables, a pair of peacocks (Veronica and Victor), and we’re preparing to introduce even more exotic animals. Soon, we’ll have ostriches, pheasants, and maybe even some snakes. Our goal is to create a haven for exotic animals and an educational experience for visitors.

Visiting a Prominent Bantam Breeder

Recently, I visited my friend Dingdong Apostol, a renowned breeder of Bantam chickens. He shared some valuable tips on Bantam farming, including the importance of regular deworming. His Japanese and Sama Bantams are exquisite, and I’m thrilled to have added some of his breeds to our farm.

The Health Benefits of Farm Life

Running the farm has not only been rewarding financially but also beneficial for my health. The physical activity has helped me maintain balanced health, reducing high sugar, cholesterol, and fatty liver. It’s a fulfilling lifestyle that combines passion with well-being.

Future Plans

We are working hard to complete our farm and open it to the public. Visitors will be able to learn about our farming techniques, including feeding practices, housing, cleanliness, and disease prevention. They can also purchase vegetables, chickens, goats, tilapia, hito, and more.
