Exciting Developments at Dexter’s World Farm

Hi guys, it’s a beautiful day once again and welcome back to Dexter’s World channel! I’m thrilled to share the latest updates and exciting developments happening here at the farm. As you know, we’ve been working hard to create an integrated farming system, and today, I have some amazing news and tips to share with you.

New Additions to the Farm

Our farm is becoming increasingly vibrant and lively with the arrival of new pets and animals. We now have:

  • Peacocks: These majestic birds add a touch of elegance to the farm.
  • Bantam Chickens: Our bantams are producing chicks, and they’re a delight to watch.
  • Ducks and Geese: They are multiplying rapidly, adding to the farm’s productivity.
  • Various Chicken Breeds: Including the Shamo chickens, which are now part of our breeding program.

Joy of New Life

Every time a new life is born on the farm, I feel an overwhelming sense of joy and contentment. Recently, our Shamo rooster has successfully bred, and we now have four adorable Shamo chicks. It’s moments like these that make all the hard work worthwhile.

Vegetable Farming

Our integrated farming wouldn’t be complete without a robust vegetable garden. We’re on the verge of harvesting our squash, but we’ve encountered some challenges along the way. The squash has been attacked by worms, which are the larvae of butterflies. To combat this, we’ve developed a natural pesticide that is safe for our animals and effective against pests.

Natural Pesticide Recipe

Our pesticide is composed of:

  • Neem Tree Extract: Known for its natural pest-repellent properties.
  • Ginger: Adds a stinky element that deters pests.
  • Dishwashing Liquid: Helps spread the solution on the plants.

This organic pesticide has been very effective in protecting our vegetables without harming our farm animals.

The Benefits of Organic Farming

Using organic methods not only ensures the safety of our animals but also promotes a healthier ecosystem. Our farm practices include:

  • Composting Kitchen Scraps: We ferment kitchen scraps to create a rich, organic fertilizer.
  • Regular Pest Control: Our natural pesticide has proven effective in keeping pests at bay.

Progress in Other Areas

We’re also seeing progress in our lady finger (okra) plants and watermelons. The lady fingers are blooming beautifully, and our watermelons are growing big and healthy. We use supports to help bear the weight of the watermelons, preventing them from detaching from the stems.

Looking Ahead

We’re making significant strides toward our goal of having a diverse and productive farm. Future plans include:

  • Hito (Catfish) Farming: We’re bringing back our catfish farming operations.

  • Tilapia Farming: Expanding our tilapia production.

  • Ostrich Farming: Adding these exotic birds to our collection.

  • Exotic Birds: More peacocks and other exotic birds to enhance the farm’s appeal.

Preparing for Public Visits

We’re excited to eventually open the farm to the public. Visitors will be able to learn about our farming methods, observe the animals, and even purchase fresh produce and animals from the farm. We’re working on improving the farm’s infrastructure to make it a welcoming and educational experience for all.
