Dexter’s World: Bridging Agriculture and Innovation

Hello, dear readers! It’s Dexter here, bringing you the latest updates from our farm’s journey towards sustainability and innovation. Today, I am thrilled to share with you two significant milestones that have kept us busy and excited: the near completion of our goat house and our latest harvest of white squash.

The Final Touches to Our Goat House

Our team has been tirelessly working on completing the pearlings of our much-anticipated goat house. With the structure nearly done, we’re gearing up to affix the roofings, making it ready to welcome our goats. Constructing this goat house has been a labor of love and dedication. Despite challenges, such as working over water, we persisted, and now we stand on the verge of completion. This sturdy structure, built primarily from light materials like bamboo and wood, is proof of our commitment to creating a safe and comfortable home for our goats.

As we move forward, we’re excited about the prospect of introducing hybrid goats to our farm, aiming to enhance our breeding program. This step towards upgrading our goat farm involves a considerable investment, but we believe it’s a leap worth taking. By integrating pure breeds with our local goats, we aim to produce high-quality offspring that will elevate our farm’s status and productivity.

Harvesting the Fruits of Our Labor

In addition to our construction efforts, we’ve been busy harvesting the fruits of our white squash. This harvest marks our third, and each time, the bounty seems to surpass our expectations. Initially, we only expected a modest yield, but now we’re projecting to harvest thousands of fruits throughout the cropping period.

This abundance is not just a testament to the fertility of our farm but also to the effectiveness of our organic practices. We shunned synthetic fertilizers in favor of a combination of rabbit poop and composted vegetables, resulting in a crop that’s not only bountiful but also healthy and safe for consumption.

A Rolling Store: Bringing Our Products to You

One of the most exciting developments on our farm is the introduction of our rolling store. This mobile store, converted from a tricycle, allows us to bring our fresh produce, including hito (catfish), tilapia, native chicken eggs, and ornamental fish, directly to our customers. It represents a significant step towards making our farm’s products more accessible, all the while presenting them in a more appealing and convenient way.

Organic Farming: A Sustainable Approach

Our journey into organic farming continues to be rewarding. By relying on natural fertilizers and sustainable practices, we’ve managed to not only enhance the quality of our produce but also reduce our environmental impact. Our success with superworms as a natural food source for our chickens and ducks further exemplifies our commitment to sustainability.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to develop our farm, our goals remain clear: to innovate, to sustain, and to share. Whether it’s through constructing facilities like our goat house, harvesting our crops, or bringing our products closer to you through our rolling store, we’re dedicated to a future where farming is not just about producing food, but about doing so responsibly and innovatively.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Your support fuels our passion and drives us to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in farming. Stay tuned for more updates, and remember, together, we can grow, innovate, and thrive.
